I’ve done past posts about wee houses, but this article at NPR crushed my spirits.
As usual, the Japanese sense of style, attention to detail, and imagination all combine to make what I thought was an American innovation appear for what it is — pathetic and impoverished.
Just look at this:
That’s like a miniature 21st-century cathedral!
Sure, it’s longer than a wee house planted on a trailer bed, but it looks just as wide. And when you go there and see the interior photos — of this one and others — your jaw will fall out of its socket and bounce on the floor.
There is something seriously wrong here in America when affordable housing like this is against the law. And our only current working alternative is basically a box on wheels!
